34 people in Vedanthangal Village took an important step towards protecting their future by choosing early cancer screening.

At the Project Sunkalp cancer screening camp held at the Panchayat Office, Vedanthangal Village, Madurantakam, we provided essential screening services to members of the community:

32 clinical breast examinations
34 oral cancer examinations
14 Pap smear screenings

Every screening represents more than a number—it represents a person who chose prevention over uncertainty. Breast, cervical, and oral cancers can often be detected in their earliest stages through simple, evidence-based screening, when treatment is more effective and outcomes are significantly better.

By bringing these services directly to the village, Project Sunkalp removes common barriers such as travel, cost, and limited access to specialised healthcare. This allows women and men alike to receive timely cancer screening close to home, encouraging a culture of prevention and regular health check-ups.
